Process Group for Psychology Trainees and Interns
The process of becoming a psychotherapist is arduous. Often the feelings evoked are confusing, anxiety provoking or otherwise threatening. Personal issues are often triggered. The first few years of entering this field involve a profound shift in the ways in which the beginning therapist sees himself/herself both professionally and personally.
These issues, as well as others, will be explored in a small group of therapists-in-training who are in a similar stage of professional development.
The Process group will begin in the Winter. The group will be facilitated by Scott Schulkin, MFT and Francine Sanfilippo, MFTI. Scott ran an internship for four years, provided supervision and consultation for many years, and has taught at the graduate and undergraduate levels. Francine is a graduate of the Master's in Clinical Psychology Program at SFSU; and has worked with a wide variety of clients in private practice, school-based work and community mental health centers. Francine is supervised by Kym Sites, MFT. For more information, please call San Francisco Counseling Centers general phone number at (415) 440-0500. Email inquiries are also welcome.
