Group Psychotherapy
Group therapy can be the treatment of choice at times/for certain issues or it
can be a very effective adjunctive therapy (i.e. along with individual or other
treatment modalities). While it can initially be challenging to be in a therapy
group, this is a powerful and worthwhile therapy modality. Not only can one get
support from a therapy group, but also one can explore and develop an
understanding about important interpersonal expectations and dynamics in a
therapy group in ways that are not possible in ones personal life and in ways
that may not be as readily accessible in individual therapy.
